As we approach our third Christmas at INNOVATE HPC, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you, our members, as well as our team for the energy, enthusiasm, inspiration and training experiences we have shared in 2014.
With every year, friendships are formed or deepened and the buzz of sharing the gym with other like-minded people from all walks of life, backgrounds, shapes and sizes becomes an essential part of our daily or weekly routine. You comprise our INNOVATE gym community with your sweat, commitment and personal contribution towards making that friendly, neighbourhood gym located at 100 The Chase a great place to train, hang out and connect with friendly faces. Kudos must be given to you for making our work place a great place to be and our work an absolute pleasure.
On a more sombre note, it was with the deepest sadness and shock that we learned of the sudden and unexpected tragic passing of two wonderful members this year; Positive Matarutse and Deon Dunsham. Positive was with us when we opened our doors two and a half years ago and lived up to his name in every class he attended; smiling, happy and clearly enjoying himself, he was a delight for all our instructors to teach.
Where Positive made his regular presence felt in the group fitness section, Deon loved training frequently in the gym section and was a familiar face with his regular gym buddies and our trainers. It is only fitting that we honour them by remembering and treasuring the times we shared. They will always be a part of INNOVATE and of us. God Bless them.
I would like to thank all of the Innovate staff for bringing you a year of fun, fitness and individually unique personality brands to keep you moving! They are a “dream team” in every way, true professionals and I consider myself privileged to be able to work with them.
Be sure to look at the December schedule; particularly Saturday 20th Xmas XTrain Team Teach! Dress in something red, green or white, bring a wrapped gift for an underprivileged child and celebrate with us – workout followed by mince pies and social! Here’s wishing you health, happiness and fitness this Christmas and let us collectively look to 2015 and beyond.
